Overview
Before beginning the affiliation process for the upcoming year, a regional coordinator should first create an event for your upcoming regional STEM fair.
To begin, log in to the
YSC Portal, and click Events under Resources in the left sidebar.
- If there is a past event - create an event by duplicating a past event
- If no events are listed - create a new event from scratch
Creating an event by duplicating a past event
If there is a 2023 event, select it using the checkbox at the left and then select Duplicate Event from the Select Action menu. Click the blue action arrow to the right of the menu and select any items you want copied from the previous year (awards, award prizes, etc.). Duplicating the previous event saves you from having to re-enter these each year.
Creating a new event from scratch
1. Click on Events
2. Click on Create Event
3. Type the name of your event
4. Change your event status to Active
5. Type a description of your fair.
6. Confirm your Event Group is Regional Fair.
7. Click on 'Check this box to turn off automatic project numbering' if you want to manually assign project numbers to the projects at your event.
8. Enter the remaining information for your fair.
