The STEM Fair Journey
Once you've completed your project, you might want to share it with others. Here's how the STEM fair process works:
Step 1: Regional STEM Fairs
Your journey begins at one of the 100+ regional STEM fairs across Canada. To get started:
- Find your nearest regional fair at youthscience.ca/science-fairs/regional-fairs
- Register according to your regional fair's guidelines
- Present your project to judges and the public
- Top projects are selected to advance to the national level
Step 2: Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF)
If your project is selected at the regional level:
- You'll join approximately 400 finalists from across Canada
- Present your project to expert judges
- Participate in a week of STEM activities, workshops, and social events
- Compete for medals, awards, scholarships, and prizes worth nearly two million dollars
Step 3: International Opportunities
Outstanding CWSF projects may be selected to represent Canada internationally:
- Team Canada participants represent our country at prestigious international STEM competitions
- International fairs take place in different countries around the world
- These experiences provide unparalleled opportunities to connect with young scientists globally
